A second public-comment period has been opened for the revised Lakeside Neighborhood Plan.
It ends at midnight on July 21, according to Lakeside plan committee member Barb Miller.
The Lakeside Community Council considered public comments taken in May and June before giving the revised plan a thumbs-up on June 30.
The revised plan, with changes marked, and a version with all changes accepted are posted on the Web site http://lakesideplan2008.com. Comments may be submitted via e-mail to LakesideCommunityCouncil@bresnan.net or by mail to P.O. Box 157, Lakeside, MT 59922.
A special meeting of the Lakeside Community Council is scheduled for 7 p.m. July 14 at the Lakeside Community Chapel to take public comments about the revised plan.
During the community council's regularly scheduled meeting on July 28, the council will determine if any other revisions need to be made and will consider forwarding the plan to the county with an application for adoption as an amendment to the Flathead County Growth Policy.

Here's a novel idea; honor and respect private property rights. Let owners do as they will with their own property.-it's theirs not the governments. Until people wake up and realize that "neighborhood plans" and "zoning" regs are nothing but an afront to the rights of property ownership, this same drama will play out ad nauseum.
