Teen bicyclist involved in Whitefish hit-and-run

A 17-year-old on a bicycle was involved in a hit-and-run when a male driver in a white pickup reportedly hit the youth, running over his knee on Mallard Loop in Whitefish. The youth said he didn’t need medical attention, but the person calling in the report to Flathead County Sheriff’s Office was persistent that medical crews should respond. Montana Highway Patrol also responded to the incident.

Some dogs on Cottonwood Drive in Kalispell may have broken a record when a man called to report the vocal canines have barked for four years straight. Deputies called the man back and he reportedly said the dogs do not bark very much, but it is annoying when they do since it occurs right outside his bedroom window.

An ambulance was requested for an 80-year-old woman with a walker who reportedly kicked staff and punched an aide on Hidden Meadow Lane in Columbia Falls.

A caretaker of a Kalispell residence was suspicious that someone was sleeping in the abode when they found a window open, the screen cut, the front door unlocked and “lots of stuff” that didn’t belong to them in the bedroom.

A Bigfork Middle School administrator wanted advice from a deputy when a student claimed he smoked pot with his parents before coming to school. Child and Family Services was also apprised of the situation.

An assault was reported at a fast-food restaurant on U.S. 2 in Kalispell when a man’s in-law allegedly grabbed him by the throat and went to punch him, but he got away. The enraged relative reportedly then cornered his wife.

Someone on U.S. 2 in Kalispell said a panicked woman ran through their door claiming to be running away from domestic violence before leaving.

Two storage units were reported broken into on U.S. 2 in Kalispell.

A Kalispell resident came home believing someone was in his house burglarizing it when he found the lights on and the garage door open three inches.

Evergreen Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Conestoga Court at 8:05 a.m. Monday.
