Flathead’s Mercer second at Butte Invite

BUTTE — Flathead’s Marcella Mercer took second at the Butte Invite at Fairmont Hot Springs in Butte on Thursday.

Mercer was the leader after the first day but was edged by Bozeman’s Cora Rosanova by five strokes — 151-156.

Glacier boys claimed third place overall with 662.

Also of Flathead, Jillian Wynne’s 176 earned a sixth place finish individually.

Finishing ninth was Glacier’s Alana Griffin, who carded a 179.

Flathead was fourth and Glacier fifth in the team results.

Tyler Avery of Glacier tied for sixth place, carding a 157 total. Will Salonen and Keaton Cassidy scored 168 and 178 respectively.

Ezra Epperly was Flathead’s top performer with 178.

A dominant Bozeman swept both the boys and girls team titles and individual titles.
