A survey of patients by Consumer Reports gave North Valley Hospital the highest rating for full-service health care in Montana and number three for full-service health care in the Pacific Northwest.

These ratings were based on questions about doctor communication, nurse communication, room cleanliness, discharge instructions, attentiveness of hospital staff, pain control and hospital quietness at night.

The Consumer Reports health-care survey was based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems as well as core measures identified through Medicare.

In a press release, North Valley Hospital officials said they were honored that patients have once again recognized the high quality service and care offered to them here in its community.

The hospital has received several other awards including the Exceeding Patient Expectations Awards from 2003-08 and Overall Best Performer Award in 2008 from Avatar International Inc.

North Valley Hospital also has received certification for the high-quality service and care provided by its laboratory and recognition for its low infection rate.
