A 23-year-old Kalispell woman originally charged with two felonies and three misdemeanors in two cases pleaded guilty to two charges Friday in Flathead District Court.

Natasha Morgan had been charged with felony assault with a weapon and misdemeanor partner or family member assault in connection to an Oct. 6 incident between Morgan and her ex-boyfriend. The Flathead County Attorney’s Office eventually filed an amended motion that only included the misdemeanor charge, which she pleaded guilty to Friday.

She also faced a felony charge of drug possession and misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing a peace officer in connection with an Oct. 11 incident, also between Morgan and her ex-boyfriend. In exchange for pleading guilty to the drug possession charge, the misdemeanors were dismissed.

The plea agreement accepted by Morgan recommends a three-year deferred sentence for the drug charge and a suspended one-year sentence for the misdemeanor, to be served concurrently.

If the plea agreement had not been accepted, Morgan could have faced between two years and one day and five and a half years in jail and a fine of between $100 and $50,500.

Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 23, 2012.
