Unplowed roads threat to man's life

A resident on Haskill Drive in Whitefish was counseled by a Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputy on Wednesday after he complained that his life was in danger because the county road department intentionally wasn’t plowing the road to his home.

A driver reported to the sheriff’s office that kids were throwing snowballs at vehicles on East Reserve Drive in Kalispell at 4:49 p.m. Wednesday. An officer talked to two boys about their behavior.

A Kalispell father asked for an officer to talk to his 7-year-old son after the son reportedly stole something and took a knife to school.

A verbal dispute was reported between family members on Kienas Road in Kalispell at 6:14 p.m.

Two men were separated for the night after a verbal disturbance erupted at a home on Maple Drive in Kalispell.

A dog named Cinderella was reported running at large at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday on Marjorie Street in Columbia Falls.

Three other dogs were reported running at large on Truman Creek Road in Kila at 10:17 a.m. Wednesday.

 A lone dog was reported running loose on Coon Hollow Road in Kila at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday.

And, two dogs were reportedly chasing horses on Westwood Lane in Kalispell at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday.

A man reported his home in Cobbler Village in Kalispell had been burglarized.

A Kalispell resident reported a backpack filled with textbooks had been stolen on Collier Lane.

The Kalispell Police Department received a 5:42 p.m. report Wednesday that a 12-year-old boy had run away from home after the boy had a fight with his brother. The boy was found at 6:59 p.m. in Woodland Park and taken home.

Police responded to a physical disturbance report at 11:43 p.m. on Fourth Avenue East. A woman reportedly was breaking windows out of a vehicle and arguments were ensuing.

Police were not able to locate a driver who was reported driving recklessly on U.S. 93 North at 11:04 a.m. Thursday. 

A woman reported Wednesday that her wallet, containing $80, had been lost.

Another person reported to police that $100 was taken from a residence on California Street.

A man reported he spotted his stolen longboard in a pawn shop in Kalispell.

A duffel bag containing clothes and prescription drugs was reported stolen on Fourth Avenue East in Kalispell Wednesday.

Police responded to a report in the Hutton Ranch Plaza that the rear window had been broken out of a Nissan Xterra.

A Kalispell police officer spoke with a man Wednesday about a previous incident in which the man had been beaten by two other people.

The Whitefish Police Department received a report of a hit-and-run accident on Railway Street at 12:28 a.m. Thursday.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office received an 11:15 a.m. Wednesday report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on 11th Avenue North West in Polson.

A shoplifter was arrested at a Ronan business at 5:48 p.m. Wednesday.

An auto accident with property damage on U.S. 93 was reported to the sheriff’s office at 6:02 p.m. Wednesday.

A report of fraud was filed with the sheriff’s office at 2:03 p.m. Wednesday by a Polson business.

Four partner-family member assaults were reported in Lake County Wednesday. One report was made at 8:10 a.m. on Montana 35, another at 5:06 p.m. on Eisenhower Street in Ronan, a third at 6:38 p.m. on Eighth Street East in Polson and lastly at 11:23 p.m. on Eighth Street East in Polson.
