Weldon Raymond Munter, 87
Maj. Weldon Raymond Munter USMC retired, 87, of Beaumont, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at Emeritus at Dowlen Oaks, Beaumont, Texas.
He was born on March 5, 1927, in Tacoma, Washington, to Odile Bousquet and Lloyd Munter.
Maj. Munter was retired from the United States Marine Corps and had the privilege to fly Marine One for Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson during their terms. He loved his country and was the true definition of a patriot. Maj. Munter also enjoyed working in his yard, camping, and spending time with his dog, Ace.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Munter; children, David Munter and his wife, Dawn, of Montana; Randy Munter and his wife, Wynette, of Arkansas; and Cindy Norris of Wisconsin; stepsons, Alan Sekaly of Beaumont and Bruce Sekaly and his wife, Geannie, of North Carolina; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and stepbrother, Chuck Harkins, and his wife, Gin, of Washington.
A memorial service for Maj. Munter was held Jan. 15. A graveside service was held at Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
