Both political parties working to destroy life and liberty
I appreciate Jerry Reckin’s letter against unprovoked wars and Russel Bush’s about the need for a third party, both letters to the editor printed on April 19.
How about a political party that is 1) against the shedding of innocent blood; 2) for the rule of law (the U.S. Constitution instead of mob rule) and; 3) for restoration of the proper role of government (as stated in the Declaration of Independence to preserve life and liberty NOT to take care of people from cradle to grave)?
The Republican platform opposes abortion, but when they had a chance to stop it, when they dominated the executive and legislative branches, they did nothing. The Democratic platform supports abortion rights, and pro-life Democrats continue to vote Democrat even though their party supports killing children. Republicans support the killing of innocent children in their support of incessant unconstitutional unjust wars. Though Democrats don’t like to admit it, leadership from their party has emphatically and unmistakably promoted war. Madeleine Albright, secretary of state under Bill Clinton, said the death of 500,000 Iraqi children was “worth it.”
Majorities from both parties in D.C. vote to destroy our nation’s sovereignty by bankrupting us with bailouts, social programs and incessant wars and their welcoming of illegal aliens. George Washington in his 1796 farewell address discussed the dangers of the spirit of political parties and of foreign entanglements in unjust wars and giving undue favor to one foreign nation over another. If you agree with Thomas Jefferson that the right to life and liberty are unalienable rights given to us by our Creator, it makes no sense for you to have blind allegiance to political parties that are cooperatively destroying both life and liberty and thereby destroying this nation. —Annie Bukacek, Bigfork
