Kalispell Public Schools is requesting the community’s input on hiring a new superintendent through an upcoming community focus group and online survey.

Current Kalispell Public Schools Superintendent Mark Flatau is retiring at the end of the school year. His last day will be June 30, 2020.

Participants will be asked about the experience, qualifications and qualities they would like to see in the next superintendent. The invitation for the focus group and survey extends to the public living in both Kalispell and surrounding partner school district communities.

The community focus group will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Kalispell Middle School cafetorium.

The anonymous online survey is another way the public may provide input and may be accessed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Kalispell_Public_Schools--Staff_and_Community_Survey. The deadline is Dec. 5.

Montana School Boards Association, which is assisting the district in hiring a new superintendent, will lead the focus group and is administering the survey.
