Outdoors briefs: Glacier Nordic Center open
Glacier Nordic Center open
The Glacier Nordic Center at the Whitefish Lake Golf Course has opened for skiing.
All 12k of trails are groomed and 3k is lighted for nighttime skiing. The Glacier Nordic Shop at the course offers rentals and lessons and is open daily 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The daily trail fee is $12 ($6 for kids 8 to 17 and seniors 70 and older). A season membership is $70 for individuals and $140 for a family, and $35 for 70 and older, which allows unlimited skiing.
Glacier Nordic also grooms 25 kilometers at the Big Mountain Nordic Trails north of Whitefish. The trails may be accessed from the Big Mountain Trailhead or the Haskill Basin Trailhead.
The Big Mountain Nordic Trails are open to the public and grooming and trailhead maintenance is supported by donations and a Montana State Parks Recreation Trails Program grant. For more information including daily grooming reports visit glaciernordicclub.org/ grooming-reports/.
