Twins A split with Mariners

POLSON — The Glacier Twins A held fast against the Mission Valley Mariners to win 13-9 despite giving up seven runs in the sixth inning in the first game of a double header.

Glacier scored four runs in the seventh inning to pull away from the Mariners.

Trenton Tyree pitched five innings for the Twins and allowed five hits and zero runs with five strikeouts.

Zach Veneman had a solo homer for Glacier.

In the second game, the Twins almost completed a rally but lost 6-5.

The Twins scored five runs in the sixth inning to cut the deficit to one run.

Hayden Meehan pitched four innings, with six runs on seven hits.

Glacier had two errors and five runs on five hits.
