MISSOULA — The Flathead Bravettes’ soccer season ended at rainy Rattlesnake Fields Tuesday, with a 5-1 loss to Missoula Hellgate in the first round of the Class AA playoffs.

The Knights are hot — one of the few blemishes they had after a 1-1-2 start was a 1-0 loss at Flathead on Oct. 6.

Hellgate, behind two goals from Ashley Young, flew to a 4-0 lead in the first half. The Knights are now 8-4-3.

“It was a cold day — a very cold day,” Flathead coach Bledy Doda said. “The field was a little heavy, but Missoula scored five — I think they wanted the game more than us.

“A couple mistakes in the back, and not being able to finish — you know, it’s hard to get through the playoffs like that.”

Lily Tanko scored Flathead’s goal, in the 45th minute. The Bravettes ended up 7-6-2.

“Hellgate played better than us today, and they deserved to win,” Doda said. “Credit to them.”
