Frenchtown 14, Libby 6

FRENCHTOWN — Tel Arthur had two short scoring runs in the first half and the Frenchtown Broncs made them hold up for a snowy 14-6 win over Libby in a key Western A game.

The win, coupled with Dillon’s 39-33 win over Whitefish, makes Frenchtown (7-2) the No. 3 seed out of the Western A and Columbia Falls (6-3) the No. 4 seed.

Libby (5-4) drew to 14-6 on a Dawson Young 1-yard touchdown run at 2:04 of the third quarter. The Loggers later recovered a Frenchtown fumble but couldn’t capitalize.

Frenchtown heads on the road to play Laurel in the playoffs next week; Columbia Falls is also on the road, to take on Eastern A champion Billings Central.

Western A champion Hamilton will play host to Sidney and Miles City will travel to play Dillon in the other first-round playoff games.
