COLUMBIA FALLS — The Maack sisters of Laurel were again the bane of the Columbia Falls Wildkats, combining for three goals and an assist in a 5-1 semifinal win Saturday.

Maddie Robison struck first for the Wildkats on a direct kick three minutes in. Laurel’s Mya Maack scored two minutes later and the Locomotives got the lead for good on a tally from Maeson Cotter.

Columbia Falls was down three starters, two to quarantine and one to injury.

“I’m super proud of the girls,” Wildkats coach Thomas Clark said. “They never die easy, they constantly fight to the end.”

Laurel (10-0-1) has prevailed in three consecutive playoff meetings with the Wildkats, whose last appearance in the chipper was in 2014. Laurel won that, 2-0.

Columbia Falls can hang its hat on a 10-3-0 record and the fact that it will only lose three seniors from this year’s team.
