Glacier drops volleyball opener to Sentinel in 5

The Glacier Wolfpack opened their volleyball season against perennially tough Missoula Sentinel and took the Spartans to five games before falling Tuesday.

Glacier coach Christy Harkins noted she felt frustration after the match Tuesday and better about the opener -- which ended with a 15-12 superset loss -- come Wednesday.

“Today I feel a little bit better with how well we played through the first match of the season,” Harkins said. “We didn’t have any non-conference matches and just had to start. That was just different, and I thought the girls did a great job with that.”

Sidney Gulick had 13 kills to lead Glacier at the net. Morgan Hernandez had 26 digs and two aces for the Pack.

RONAN - Madeline McCrea had three kills, six digs and 3.5 blocks to help Ronan to a straight-sets victory over visiting Mission Tuesday.
