Glacier boys blank Helena; Whitefish sweeps Stevi
HELENA — Sullivan Coggins scored for the Glacier Wolfpack in a 1-0 Western AA victory over the Helena High Bengals on Thursday.
Coggins scored in the 24th minute and Glacier held the lead the rest of the game.
Glacier keeper John Pyron made one save in the shutout.
The Wolfpack are 6-2-1 and second in Western AA, behind the powerhouse Hellgate Knights.
“ We’re getting better and better as the season goes on, “ Glacier coach Ryan Billiet said. “We’re playing more as a team. We finally had some time to prep this week and the guys did a great job getting a result. They played for each other and that’s what you like to see at this point in the season.”

WHITEFISH — Marvin Kimera scored a hat trick for the Whitefish Bulldogs in an 8-1 Class A win over Stevensville.
Stevi’s Garrett Schreiber scored two minutes in but it was all Whitefish (5-0-1 overall, 2-0-1 conference) from there.
Kimera scored all three of his goals in the first half and added a pair of assists in the second half.
“Marvin Kamera had a big game, found a hat trick in the first half and played well,” Whitefish coach John Lacey said.

HELENA — Tessa Smith scored a late goal to give the Flathead Bravettes a 2-1 win against Western AA opponent Helena Capital.
Skye Thompson’s goal tied the game in the 36th minute and Smith scored in the 56th for the win.
Flathead is 4-3-2 overall.
“A beautiful game to watch,” Flathead coach Bledy Doda said. “I think we played great soccer.”

WHITEFISH — The Whitefish Lady Bulldogs scored two late goals to claim a win against Class A rival Stevensville.
Sophie Olson scored in the 62nd minute and Isabelle Cook added a goal, assisted by Olson, in the 70th minute.
The Bulldogs are 5-0-1 overall and 2-0-1 in Northwestern A.
