Rumsey Eash, Bravettes claim title at Sentinel Invite cross country

MISSOULA ­— Flathead’s Lilli Rumsey Eash won the girls’ race and Glacier’s Sam Ells placed third on the boys’ side at the Missoula Sentinel Invitational held Thursday at Fort Missoula.

Flathead (33 points) won the girls’ team title, besting Sentinel (47) and Glacier (61).

Sentinel won the boys’ team title with 18 points, followed by Glacier (47), Flathead (80) and Butte (96).

Rumsey Eash’s time was 19 minutes, 41.16 seconds — well ahead of Butte’s Hailey Nelson. In third was Glacier’s Bailey Gable, who lowered her season personal best a smidge to 20:30.5.

Ells ran his best time this fall, crossing in 16:37.87. Sentinel’s Wyatt Mortenson and Tanner Klumph went 1-2, with Mortenson clocking 16:11.68.
