Benn’s 4 TDs highlight Bigfork’s shutout of Loyola

BIGFORK ­— Cormac Benn carried the ball 29 times for 277 yards and four touchdowns to help Bigfork thump Loyola Sacred Heart 43-0 in Western B football Friday.

Benn’s 35-yard run pushed Bigfork (1-1 in league, 3-2 overall) to a 35-0 lead late in the third quarter. His other TDs covered 1, 2 and 6 yards.

The Vikings also got an interception return by Wyatt Herd and a 12-run scoring run from Cole McManaway. They outgained the Rams (0-1. 1-2) 424-138, and all their yards came on the ground.

Keenan Russell passed for 74 yards and ran for 16 for Loyola. Levi Taylor’s 6.5 tackles spearheaded the Vikings’ defense.

HELENA — Tiegan Cozzie ran for two scores and made two sacks on defense to key Helena Capital’s 41-0 win over Flathead in Western AA football at Vigilante Stadium.

Cozzie’s first TD, covering 2 yards, was set up when Tucker Zanto recovered a fumble inside the Braves’ 20-yard line.

Cozzie added a second touchdown run later in the first quarter. In the second Carson DesRosier had a 1-yard TD run set by an 86-yard option keeper by the Bruins’ Matt Burton. Capital led 21-0 at halftime.

Burton added scoring passes covering 9 and 42 yards in the second half as the Bruins (1-2) pulled away. No statistics were available for Flathead (0-3), which returns home to face 3-0 Helena High Friday.
