Frenchtown puts away Libby in softball

LIBBY — Frenchtown got a strong start from Sadie Smith and put together a 5-run seventh to down Libby 11-3 in Class A softball Saturday.

Smith and Libby starter MacKenzie Foss combined on 23 strikeouts; Smith gave up two hits and a walk in five-plus innings and fanned 11.

Foss lasted into the seventh and struck out 13, but the Broncs — getting a double and single from Cassidy Bangel and three RBIs from Khasidy Hodge — had more offense.

Foss hit a home run for Libby, which trailed 4-0 early and 6-3 heading to the seventh.
