Glacier nine takes down Sentinel, Big Sky
Kynzie Mohl scattered nine hits in seven innings and had three hits, and Sammie Labrum hit a three-run triple in the fifth inning that carried Glacier past Missoula Sentinel in Western AA softball Tuesday, 11-7.
Mohl then helped Glacier complete the sweep of Missoula schools with a 13-3 win over Big Sky.
In the first game, Labrum’s clout and a two-run ground-rule double in the fourth from Halle Schroeder were the key hits as Glacier rallied from a 4-3 deficit. Sentinel struck for three runs in the seventh, but it wasn’t enough.
Mohl allowed five earned runs, walking two and striking out two. Kenna Vanorny matched Mohl’s offense with three hits and two runs scored.
Against Big Sky Mohl hit a home run and double and drove in five runs to back Ella Farrell’s five-inning four-hitter.
Big Sky managed two earned runs, including a solo home run by Grace Hood; Farrell fanned eight hitters and walked three and the game ended under the mercy rule.
Mohl and Kenadie Goudette ahead had two hits and three runs scored; Labrum had three hits, including two doubles, drove in two and scored twice.
