GREAT FALLS — The winds were calm and the Flathead tennis players came up aces Saturday in four duals from Great Falls High and C.M. Russell.

Flathead’s girls beat the Bison and the CMR Rustlers by 6-2 scores.

Marcella Mercer and Kami Darrow picked up straight-set singles wins against Great Falls, and the Bravettes swept all four doubles matches with Emma Hawkins and Avery Cherot leading the way.

Against CMR Mayson Moore and Alexis Kerstin had straight-set singles wins, while Mercer teamed with Morris for a doubles win and the team of Peyton Walseth and Clara Jones also provided a highlight.

The Flathead boys beat Great Falls High 7-1 and tied with CMR 4-4.

Against the Bison, Nolan and Kutuk White won at Nos. 1 and 2 singles. Joston Cripe and Drew Lowry lead the way in doubles with a straight set victory.

Nolan White and Joston Cripe won decisively in singles against CMR, and the Braves clinched a tie thanks to the doubles teams of Tommy Wells and Drew Lowry, and Fynn Cox and Greg Muljadi.

“It was a really good day of tennis with near perfect conditions,” Flathead coach Jimmy Cripe said. “It’s very seldom we play tennis in Great Falls without frustrating winds. Our teams continue to grow and improve with every match.”
