Lakers AA fall to Helena Senators

The Kalispell Lakers scored four runs in the first inning, but it wasn’t quite enough as they fell, 6-4, to the visiting Helena Senators in the first half of a Sunday doubleheader.

The Senators scored one run in the second, then took the lead with a four-run third inning. They added one more run in the sixth inning.

Helena tallied 10 hits on the game, while the Lakers had three.

Carver Van Aken, Joseph Schlegel and Kael Willis had Kalispell’s hits. Schlegel’s was a 3-run triple in the first inning.

Max Holden took the loss for the Lakers. He allowed 10 hits and six runs over seven innings with two strikeouts and a walk.

Cy Miller got the win for the Senators.

Top hitters for Helena were Ethan Keintz, Matt Burton and Michael Hurlbert, each 2-for-4. Keintz had a double and Gavin Thennis batted in two runs.
