Skyview ousts Glacier girls at State AA

GREAT FALLS — Brooke Berry scored 18 points and Billings Skyview won its first State AA girls’ basketball game since 1999 Friday, 53-38 over Glacier in loser-out action at Four Seasons Arena.

The Wolfpack, which ended up 9-8, had a rough shooting game aside from Kaylee Fritz, who scored 11 points before fouling out. Fellow senior Ellie Keller got going late and finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and six steals in her final game.

Skyview (12-5) snared 10 offensive rebounds while building a 28-17 halftime lead and started the third quarter with a put-back from Breanna Williams, who had 13 points.

Fritz answered for Glacier, but the Falcons reeled off the game’s next 11 points. Berry had three baskets in the run and MG Spotted Bear converted a three-point play. Keller’s free throw with 1:40 left in the quarter snapped the surge and brought Glacier to 41-20.

Kenzie Williams hit a 3-pointer in an 8-0 Wolfpack run to end the game. Williams had six points and eight rebounds.
