Mariners, Lakers tie at 4

Mission Valley’s Daniel Kelsch scored on a 10th inning fielder’s choice to tie Sunday’s American Legion baseball game between the Mission Valley Mariners and host Kalispell AA Lakers. The game ended on the 4-4 tie.

The teams were tied at 1 after the first inning. Mission Valley scored runs in the fourth and sixth innings to lead 3-2. The Lakers took the lead in the eighth with two runs.

The Lakers racked up seven hits with Joseph Schlegal, Adden Driear and Elijah Owens each contributing two hits and one RBI.

Alex Muzquiz was 1-for-5 with a triple and an RBI for the Mariners. Eric Dolence had a double.

Xavier Fisher stole two bases.

The Lakers rolled past the Libby Loggers, 25-0, in Kalispell’s first game of the day. Kalispell had 11 hits in that one, led by Kostya Hoffman, 3-for-5 with a double and four RBI. Others with multiple hits were Schlegel and Driear, both 2-for-4.
