Bulldog boys netters sweep Libby, Polson; girls split
WHITEFISH — Three Whitefish boys netters logged double singles wins Thursday in duals against Libby and Polson. Two doubles pairs also won two matches apiece.
Whitefish beat Libby 7-0, and Polson 6-1.
Jayce Cripe, Joe Brandt and Aydin Mulholland were the double singles winners; Cripe and Mulholland won both of their matches in straight sets. Brandt had one straight-set victory and one three set victory.
Doubles pair Finn Stagg and Austin Gunset dispatched Polson’s Otto Lund and Noah Trosper and Libby’s Zach Fantozzi and Thomas Roark in straight sets.
Highland Lee-French/Mason Kelch forced a third set against Polson’s Trent Wilson and Owen McElwee.
The Lady Bulldogs split their duals, beating Libby 7-0 and falling to Polson 4-3.
Gracie Smyley, Anyah Cripe and Lauren Brown were all double winners. Smyley beat Libby’s Gabby Fantozzi 6-0, 6-0 and Polson’s Sarah Kinzle 6-0, 6-1.
Cripe took Libby’s Laniegha Zeiler to three sets and won 6-7(3), 6-2, 7-5 and then beat Polson’s Sierra Lundeen in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
Polson swept the girls doubles matches and used Katelyn Smith’s No. 4 singles win over Maile Vine to prevail over Whitefish.
