Williams, Peters, Fisher All-State for A Legion

Caden Williams of Libby, Mason Peters of the Glacier Twins and Xavier Fisher of Mission Valley were named All-State for Class A American Legion baseball.

Troy Larson of the Bitterroot Bucs was also named All-State, and the four selections also made the West A All-District team that was voted on by league coaches during the West A tournament held July 21-24 in Kalispell.

Williams hit .385 with four homers and 34 runs batted in for the Loggers, but was also a dynamic left-handed pitcher with 94 strikeouts in 67 2-3 innings and 2.07 earned run average.

Peters hit .328 with 15 steals for the Twins and was one of their top pitchers with a 1.38 ERA in 45-plus innings. Opponents hit just. 205 against him.

Fisher hit 408 for the Mission Valley Mariners, with a .576 slugging percentage and a 1.115 OPS (on base-plus-slugging percentage). He had 13 doubles, six triples, two homers, 28 runs batted in and 30 steals this season.

Williams’ teammate Tripp Zhang (.400 average, 52 runs scored, five homers, 31 RBIs) made the 15-man all-District team.

The Twins had two more all-District picks: Mikey Glass (.328 average, 23 steals, 2.36 ERA in 29 2-3 innings pitched) and Hayden Meehan (.353 average with 11 steals, 1.75 ERA in 56 IP).

In addition to Fisher three Marriner were all-District: Espn Fisher (.408 average, 1.077 OPS, 57 RBIs, nine steals), Dawson DuMont (.431 average, 1,273 OPS, 22 doubles, 11 triple, 10 HR, 90 RBIs and 27 steals) and Alex Muzquiz (.389 average, 1.122 OPS, 11 triples, six HR, 60 RBIs).

The Kalispell A Lakers were represented by Adam Nikunen, who hit .343 and stole 30 bases in 33 attempts while posting a 2.92 ERA in 62 1-3 innings pitched.
