Flathead’s Brody Thornsberry and Kasen Kastner won two events each, while seven different Bravettes won events to win their side of the triangular meet they hosted Tuesday at Legends Stadium.

Flathead thrower Tali Miller threw an AA-leading 118 feet to win the javelin and was second in the shot put, where Big Sky’s Natlie Ellis threw 35-2.5 to lead AA.

The Bravettes scored 78 points to 64.5 for Big Sky. Whitefish had 35.5.

Missoula Big Sky, getting a big day from Rowley Dupras, won the boys meet with 107 points; Flathead scored 67 and Whitefish 7.

Kennedy Moore cleared 5-2 to win the high jump for Flathead’s girls; that mark leads AA. Flathead also had wins from Mia Stephan in the long jump and Afton Wride in the triple jump. Wride’s mark of 35-8.5 is well beyond the AA qualifying standard (34-0) and leads the class in the early going of this season.

Whitefish stalwarts Brooke Zetooney and Hailey Ells split the 100 and 200; likewise Flathead’s Lilli Rumsey Eash and Madeline Jellison split the 1,600 and 3,200.

Missoula Big Sky’s Gracelee Banna swept the hurdles, and clocked a solid 50.04 in the 300s.

Rumsey Eash’s time in the 1,600 meters of 5 minutes, 35.61 seconds sits second in AA; Jellison is No. 1 among AA 3,200 meter runners in the early going of this season.

Zetooney (13.06) and Ells (26.71) both qualified for the State A meet and lead their classification.

A lot of the Flathead boys’ points came from Thornsberry, who won the 100 and long jump, and Kastner, who swept the 800 and 1,600.

Thornsberry’s time of 11.44 seconds in the 100 is unofficially the early leader in Class AA. Meets have been scarce thus far because of the weather, but likewise Kastner’s time in the 800 of 2:03.24 is also the best in AA.

Other impressive wins came from Flathead’s Bauer Hollman in the 3,200 (10:13.38); Big Sky’s Dupras, who cleared 6-foot-2 in the high jump; Big Sky’s Porter Gibbs marking 42-9 in the triple; the Eagles’ Joey Sandberg clearing 13-0 in the pole vault; and Thornsberry again in the long jump (20-10).

Flathead swept the boys relays while Whitefish swept the girls. Whitefish’s girls also got a win from Norah Schmidt in the pole vault.
