Zinke and ethics

Rep. Ryan Zinke shared a great example of “the pot calling the kettle black” with his pompous statement that the federal government is untrustworthy in the Aug. 4 article on the America First Policy Institute forum.

Mr. Zinke racked up 18 federal investigations into his behavior in the less than two years he served as secretary of the Interior under then-President Trump. Now there we have an example of a member of the federal government who was ethically dubious. Four of the investigations cleared Mr. Zinke, but a number had to be dropped due to lack of cooperation from the Department of the Interior and/or refusal of involved personnel to testify. Seven investigations are ongoing.

Why that article was on the front page is a concern. I would expect you as an editor to be giving readers accurate news and not the misinformation supplied by Zinke. He needs to be working on real issues in our country today, like developing an effective, humane immigration policy and supporting methods to slow climate change.

Climate trial

If children can sue the state for maintaining our sources of heat, electricity and modes of transportation, I suggest we all sue them (and the judge) for not being able to heat our home or travel to work.

On top of that, sue the feds and the state for not managing our forests that burn up and produce more harmful emissions than all gas-powered products running at the same time, worldwide for a year.
