Law roundup: Person whines tourists entitled to benches
A Kalispell Police Department officer responded to a complaint that homeless people were spreading bags and garbage around and covering up benches “so bad that tourists can’t sit down.” The officer determined the people in were not violating any park rules and did not have an excessive amount of stuff with them.
Someone called 911 and hung up and then called again crying that a Snapchat user scammed them into electronically sending $130.
Dispatch connected with a man whose phone allegedly dialed 911. This wasn’t the first time it happened. Apparently, the phone had dialed 911 27 times this year. He purportedly said he would take action to fix it.
A parent reportedly threatened a camp counselor and advised officers he might need a civil standby when the child was picked up.
A utility trailer, 12-foot aluminum boat and a Yamaha four-wheeler was reported stolen.

A Kalispell resident complained about feeling sick from inhaling smoke from a burn pile they claimed contained garbage and green branches. She declined medical assistance. The legal burn was found to contain all natural vegetation.
Vehicles were allegedly parking in a man’s Columbia Falls yard.
Garbage and debris was reportedly falling off a truck trailer in Columbia Falls, creating a road hazard. The driver planned to secure the load better.
