Ballet company brings ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ to the stage
The Northwest Ballet Company will take audiences on a journey exploring Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” May 13 and 14 at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts.
Company Director Marisa Roth said the production is suitable for audiences of all ages.
“This is such a fun, humorous, visually pleasing, emotion-meeting, crowd-rousing, talent-capturing production and we are excited to see children of all ages in Bigfork for it," Roth said.
The company’s 43rd spring production features the music of German composer Felix Mendelssohn, choreography by Roth, costumes by Katie Sako, backdrops by Linda Ensign and lighting by Rich Haptonstall.
Principal dancers and Flathead High School seniors, Calli Jerman and Joelle Folkman, take on the lead roles as Queen Titania and love-struck Hermia, respectively, in their final production with the company.
A 2 p.m. matinee followed by a fairies parade is planned May 13. An 8 p.m. performance is also scheduled for May 13. On May 14, the performance will begin at 4 p.m.
Ticket prices are $22 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased online at www.northwestballet.com, or one hour prior to each performance at the box office, 526 Electric Ave., Bigfork.
