No. 7 Carroll storms back late to beat Eastern Oregon on the road

LA GRANDE, Ore. — The Fighting Saints shook off a slow start to beat the Mountaineers 14-6 on the road after being held scoreless through three quarters.

Jack Prka scored the first of Carroll’s fourth quarter touchdowns with a one-yard run to take a 7-6 lead at the 11:18 mark. The Fighting Saints followed that up with a defensive score by Forest Suero on a fumble recovery for touchdown with 8:39 to play.

Prka had a mistake-free but quiet day in the passing game as he finished 6 of 16 for 46 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions. Duncan Kraft was strong for Carroll in the run game as he piled up 88 yards on 19 carries to lead a rushing attack that tallied 167 total yards.

The Fighting Saints managed to keep the Mountaineers out of the end zone despite a solid performance from Eastern Oregon quarterback Quincy Glasper who was 21 of 33 passing for 244 yards and no interceptions.

No. 19 Montana Western 27, Rocky Mountain 20

DILLON — Pete Gibson broke off a 61-yard touchdown run in the fourth to make things 27-6 as Bulldogs piled up 242 rushing yards on their way to a home win over the Battlin Bears.

Gibson finished with 128 yards rushing on six carries and Jake Humphrey tacked on 73 yards and a score on 15 carries.

Rocky Mountain jumped out to a 6-0 lead after a pair of field goals by kicker Austin Drake but Montana Western would respond with 27 unanswered points starting with a John Mears field goal early in the second. The Bulldogs followed that up with Eli Nourse hauling in a touchdown reception from quarterback Michael Palandri to make things 10-6 and take the lead for good. Palandri was 14 of 28 passing for 159 yards and a score with zero interceptions. Nourse was his top target as he hauled in seven grabs for 90 yards.

Battlin Bears quarterback Graedyn Buell was 26 of 39 through the air for 311 yards, two scores, and an interception. Joseph Dwyer finished with four catches for 97 yards and was on the receiving end of both Buell touchdown passes.

No. 10 College of Idaho 59, MSU-Northern 0

CALDWELL, Idaho — Andy Peters threw four touchdown passes and no interceptions as the Yotes beat the Lights at home.

Peters totaled 246 yards through the air and his go-to-reciever was Jon Schofield who hauled five catches for 135 yards and two scores in the passing game.

Peters also ran 33 yards and a score on eight carries.

MSU-Northern quarterback Ashton Platt was intercepted twice and finished 8 of 22 passing for 23 yards

Southern Oregon 49, Arizona Christian 7

ASHLAND, Ore. — Blake Asciutto had two touchdowns, through the air and another with his legs as the Raiders ran away from the Firestorm.

Asciutto finished 20 of 31 passing for 265 yards and Avery McCuaig tacked on two scores in the run game while racking up 94 yards on seven carries.

The Raiders led 38-0 at halftime and the Firestorm found paydirt mid-way through the third quarter on a Johnny Herrera touchdown run. Herrera ended the day with 53 yards rushing on nine carries and was 7 of 12 in the passing game for 22 yards with an interception. Herrera split duties under center with Glenn Rice who tallied 74 yards passing and an interception while completing five of his 15 pass attempts.
