Elmo R. Overseth, 81

| March 6, 2024 12:00 AM

Elmo Rand Overseth, 81, passed peacefully from this world to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior on March 3, 2024. He was surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home.

He is survived by his brother, Jim (Carolyn); his loving wife, Jeri; his daughter, Kelli; son-in-law, Lee; and his seven grandchildren.

He was born to Robert and Nadine Overseth in Devils Tower, Wyoming. He grew up in Sheridan, Wyoming, where he developed many lifelong friendships through high school. After high school Elmo went to Idaho State University where he met his wife, Jeri, of 57+ years. Elmo served in the Army and Army National Guard for a combined total of seven years and rose to the rank of Second Lieutenant.

Elmo and Jeri have two children, Bryan Overseth (deceased) and Kelli Blythe; as well as seven beautiful grandchildren, and their beloved cat, Hook.

Elmo and Jeri have lived in Bigfork, since building their lovely home in 2007. Elmo loved to fly fish and was a meticulous master carpenter and jack of all trades. He used his talents to serve many friends and folks around town and was always hard at work perfecting whatever he put his hands to.

In all things, Elmo’s chief passion and mission in life was to glorify God. Like his hero, John Wayne, he was a man of few words. However, he showed the love of Jesus in multiple ways, but his heart to serve others in the name of Jesus speaks more than most men’s words ever could. He is a man who shared the truth of the gospel every day.

A celebration of Elmo's life will be held friday, March 8, at the Crossroads Church in Bigfork. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the family.
