Dillon’s Carter Curnow and Billings Central’s Kamryn Reinker, who guided their teams to titles last weekend, are the Most Valuable Players for the State A tournament in Butte.

Curnow scored 41 points in Dillon’s three games at State, and had 11 points in the Beavers’ 53-28 win over Lewistown in the boys championship. He was 10 of 23 from the field (2 of 4 from 3-point range) and hit 19 of 23 free throws for the tournament.

Curnow also grabbed 12 rebounds while Dillon (20-5) picked up its 11th state title.

Reinker totaled 29 points and 31 rebounds as the Rams (23-2) won three games by a total of 11 points at the Butte Civic Center. She had 12 points and seven boards in Central’s 41-38 win over Bigfork Saturday, which gave the Rams their eighth state championship and first outright title since 2012.

Votes were gathered by the Daily Inter Lake and Montanasports.com.

Joining Reinker on the all-tournament first team were Billings Central teammate Coral Old Bull; Mason Quinn of third-place Frenchtown, which lost in overtime to Central in Thursday’s first round; and Ava Davey and Braeden Gunlock of runner-up Bigfork.

The Valkyries’ Paeten Gunlock tops the second team.

Joining Curnow on the boys all-tournament first team were teammate Kyler Engellant, Jace Hill of third-place Columbia Falls, Owen McPartland of Butte Central and Kyler Northrop of Billings Central.

Columbia Falls’ Cody Schweikert was on the second team, along with Maxx Ray and Brody Jenness of State A runner-up Lewistown.
