Glacier Symphony celebrates the season with two holiday favorites
Two extraordinary performances by the Glacier Symphony and Chorale will fill the Flathead Valley with the magic and wonder of the holiday season.
These timeless traditions, Handel’s “Messiah” and “The Nutcracker,” will take center stage at the Wachholz College Center this December.
Prepare to be moved by Handel’s stunning oratorio “Messiah,” a masterpiece that has inspired audiences for centuries on Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 8 at 3 p.m.
Featuring the Glacier Symphony Orchestra and Chorale under the direction of Maestro John Zoltek, this annual performance brings together soaring voices, rich orchestral sound, and emerging vocal soloists selected for their exceptional talent.
The program highlights the story of Christ’s Nativity and culminates in the uplifting “Hallelujah” chorus, a moment where audience participation adds to the shared spirit of the season.
The magic of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” returns to Kalispell on Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Dec. 15 at 1 p.m.
This beloved holiday tradition will feature the Glacier Symphony Orchestra performing the score live alongside the professional dancers of the San Diego Ballet Company. Adding a local touch, talented young dancers from Northwest Ballet, Academy of the Performing Arts, Noble Dance, Whitefish School of Ballet, and Bigfork Dance will join the cast.
Audiences will journey with Clara into the enchanting Land of Sweets, as stunning choreography and the shimmering sounds of the orchestra bring this timeless tale to life. With past years’ performances selling out and glowing reviews, this family-friendly production promises a delightful and unforgettable holiday outing.
