Strong first half leads CFalls to win over Bigfork

BIGFORK — Columbia Falls got hot from beyond the arc, nailing 10 3-pointers to pick up a road victory over Northwest A foe Bigfork 55-42 on Saturday.   

Three different players reached double figures for the Wildcats, with Grady Hutton scoring a team-high 13, 12 of them coming from three. Reggie Sapa and Bjorn Pederson finished with 12 apiece. Pederson also had nine rebounds.  


Austin Savik led all scorers with 14 points for the Vikings, while Trecker Hickey finished with nine. The Vikings were outscored 30-9 from the three-point line.

RONAN — Jhett McDonald and Laurance Lozeau each hit two 3-pointers and scored 14 points, and hot-shooting Ronan downed Libby in Northwest A play. 


McDonald was 6-for-9 from the field and McDonald was 6-for-8; Wade Qualtier was also 6 of 8 on the way to 12 points. As a team the Chiefs shots 61 percent (34 of 56) from the floor. 


Aiden Rose led the Loggers with 10 points. He hit two from behind the arc.

Browning’s Jude Reevis scored 20 points and the Indians pulled away from a halftime tie to win this Northwest A title. 


Noah Butterfly and Tristan Crawford both scored all of their points — six each — in the second half for Browning. Josh Skunkcap had a three-point play with 2:48 left in the game that made it 49-39. 


Malakai Curley led the Pirates with 12 points.

SOMERS — Zeph Stutzman hit six 3-pointers and scored 24 points, and Flathead Valley Christian made short work of North Idaho Christian in boys basketball Saturday. 


Stutzman had 18 points by halftime, when FFC had a 66-23 lead. Jon Dannic had 15 of his 22 points by intermission as well. Kai Lott added two 3-pointers and 17 points for the Crusaders, and Patrick Bonner’s 18 points included one three.

RONAN — Laurance Lozeau’s 18 points led three Ronan players in double figures, and the Chiefs used a big second half to beat Northwest A foe Columbia Falls 75-60 Thursday. 


Lozeau had 13 of his points after halftime as Ronan outscored the Wildcats 47-29. He had two 3-pointers. 


Kolby Finley added 11 points, including a 5-for-5 performance at the line in the fourth quarter. Wade Qualtier checked in with 12 points for the Chiefs. 


Bjorn Pedersen scored 18 points and Cooper Ross added 13 for Columbia Falls, which turned it over 20 times.
