C-Falls, Bigfork girls soccer tie, Wildcat boys win

BIGFORK — Bella Mann scored for Columbia Falls and Michaela Anderson found the back of the net for Bigfork as the teams drew 1-1 Saturday in high school girls soccer.


Mann tallied off an assist from Riley Byrd in the 24th minute to put Columbia Falls (4-0-1) up 1-0. 


Out of the half, Anderson tied the game for the Valkyries (3-1) as Taite Welch assisted to make it 1-1. 


“That field is always a really tough place to play and for us to go there and get a point was important,” Wildkats coach Thomas Clark said. “We are currently first in the conference and undefeated and that is exactly where we want to be.”   


The Wildkats outshot the Valkyries 9-3.

Javien Mata moved from the defensive line to striker and was rewarded with a pair of goals as Columbia Falls bested Bigfork. 


Jackson Scholz opened the scoring with Mata claiming the assist in the 19th minute. 


Mata then scored the next two goals to give Columbia Falls (4-1) as the Wildcats took a 3-0 lead five minutes into the second half. 


Ryker McAnally scored the lone goal for the Vikings (2-1-1) in the 67th minute.

LIBBY — Griffin Johnson and Jack Oehlerich each picked up two assists as the Whitefish boys downed Libby. 


Oehlerich found Tristan Irwin in the 32nd minute before finding Grayson Rembaugh in the 43rd to give the Bulldogs (5-0) a 2-0 lead. 


Johnson then found Wyatt Carlson for the third goal of the night before Rowan Perkins capped off the day with a goal right before the final whistle. 


Libby falls to 0-2 with the loss.

Neva Sliman and Adelle Flynn scored as the Bulldogs blanked the Libby Loggers. 


Sliman’s opener came in the 30th minute for Whitefish as Anna Guzman assisted on the tally. 


Flynn doubled the advantage four minutes into the second half. 


The Bulldogs (5-1) outshot Libby (1-2) 25-1.
