Man found dead in Kalispell’s Depot Park over weekend
Authorities say foul play is not suspected in the death of a man found in Kalispell’s Depot Park on Sunday morning.
A passerby reported the body at 8:17 a.m. in the downtown park. Responding Kalispell Police and Fire personnel pronounced the unresponsive 42-year-old dead at the scene, said Police Chief Jordan Venezio.
Authorities on Monday identified the man as Matthew Rasmussen of Alaska.
“There is no indication of suspicious circumstances or anything criminal at this time, although our department will continue to investigate all angles,” Venezio told the Inter Lake.
The body was headed to the Montana Medical Examiner’s Office on Monday. The Flathead County Coroner will be overseeing the autopsy to determine the official cause of death, according to Venezio.
