Law roundup: Dog keeps mailman in check
A tan pit bull out patrolling the streets reportedly followed a mailman around, barking at him. Animal control officers were unable to locate the dog until later, when someone spotted the skittish pup. The dog was reunited with its owner.
Someone called the Kalispell Police Department alleging that a man with a dog and several other people were possibly dealing drugs outside a business and then ran inside. Although the caller was not an employee, they asked officers to walk through the joint. Officers walked around and talked to employees who reported that a “gaggle of transients had convened” and held a loud discussion before leaving in a car.
A man’s coworker’s soon-to-be ex-husband allegedly sent a letter to him about an extramarital affair and threatened him.
Two people and an aggressive dog on a chain leash were hanging around a parking lot in a white Dodge van, reportedly refusing to leave when asked by someone. That someone told the police that they retreated when one of the loiterers started screaming at them. They still wanted the group removed from the property.
Adult Protective Services stopped by the Police Department needing to cross report a case of alleged elder abuse and financial exploitation.
A man driving a gray Honda Civic reportedly followed a vehicle in Whitefish, flipping the driver off and filming them.
A pickup parked in front of someone’s house with the engine running made the resident suspicious because when they left to do errands, the truck pulled out, went around the block and parked in the same spot. When the resident returned home, the truck was still there, so they asked the driver if he was OK. He said he was fine and left. Officers located the truck, which was unoccupied.
