Two die in early morning Kalispell house fire

Two people died and another was critically injured in a house fire in Kalispell early Wednesday morning, the Kalispell Fire Department said in a press release.

Kalispell Fire was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 737 E. California St., space no. 2 at 12:57 a.m.

En route it was reported that people were still in the structure, the press release stated. Upon arrival of the first engine no fire was visible, with a small amount of smoke showing.

Fire crews made entry and when completing their primary search of the smaller trailer home found three occupants. With assistance from mutual aid partners, medical care was immediately started as all occupants appeared critical.

All three individuals were transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center via ambulance and two were pronounced dead.

The fire, which primarily was contained to the front room of the trailer, had mostly burned out and was readily extinguished.

The fire investigation is ongoing with the assistance of Kalispell Police Department’s Detectives Division. No other information will be release until the investigation has concluded.

Mutual aid was received from Kalispell Police Department, Evergreen Fire Department, Smith Valley Fire Department, Whitefish fire Department, Kalispell PSAP 911 Center and Flathead Electric.
