Jerome Sand, 91

| April 19, 2024 12:00 AM

Jerome was 91 at the time of his passing. He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was always proud that he worked at St. Onge Logging.

He used to attend antique tractor engine shows around the states, showing his own collection. He was able to attend the Northwest Antique Power Association’s show last year with his great grandkids. Jerome got the opportunity to travel to Minnesota for the annual Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion 2 times over the last few years. He was so excited to be able to share that experience with his great grandchildren and they appreciated all of the “old school” knowledge he bestowed on them.

Jerome did not idle well and was always busy and enjoyed playing pinochle with his friends. He could always be found on his John Deere tractor or in the later years the tractor became the Craftsman lawn mower. He found great joy everyday watching the squirrels playing in the trees or the curious deer who would peek in the windows of his trailer. Most of all he enjoyed watching the local elk herd, hundreds of elk just outside his door.

He is survived by his brother, Robert Sand; his children, Randy (Jeannie) Sand and Colleen (Doug) Bowman; his grandchildren, Christina Wilke, Nickolas, Christopher, Holly and Lydia Bowman; and his great-grandchildren, Tanner and Lexi Wilke.

A brief service will be held at noon on Thursday, May 2, at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
