Students compete in cribbage tournament
Local students recently competed in a cribbage tournament. From left, in first place the Hedges team of Sage McElwain and Astraea Koehn; in second place the Hedges team of Jackson Roberts and Sam Young and in third place the Cottage Grove team of Ben Belanger and Jagger Morris.
Teams from three schools participated in the recent Kalispell city cribbage tournament held at the Gateway Community Center.
The tournament was sponsored by the United Way. The schools — Hedges Elementary, Peterson Elementary and Cottage Grove — were represented by eight students.
Twelve teams played a five-game round-robin tournament. The top two teams from each of the two round-robins played another two games to determine the places.
The Hedges teams took the top two places and a team from Cottage Grove placed third.
