Shari Marie McCann Harris, 43, died on Sept. 23, 2004 at her home in Whitefish after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Shari was born in Billings on Aug. 9, 1961, to Donald L. and Joneva Svetich McCann. Shari attended elementary schools in Yellowstone National Park and Billings. She graduated from high school in Bozeman in 1979 after spending a year as a foreign exchange student in Japan with her host parents, Mikio and Asako Akune. She later returned to Japan where she attended college before returning to college in Bozeman.

Kenneth Lloyd "Ken" Good of Whitefish passed away on Sept. 21, 2004, as the result of injuries sustained in a plane crash on Mount Liebig, while in the pursuit of one of his many passions, the repair and maintenance of communications equipment in the Bob Marshall Wilderness as an employee of the U.S. Forest Service.

Harold Stevens, 83, of Hungry Horse, passed away Aug. 10, 2004, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center. Cremation has taken place.
He was born Sept. 27, 1920, in Cleveland, Ohio. He joined the National Guard in 1938. He was inducted into the regular Army in 1941, immediately going to the South Pacific after war broke out, and engaging in battles in Luzon, Munda, Bouganville and others. He received the combat Infantryman's badge, Good Conduct medal, Bronze Star and various other ribbons. He was honorably discharged in 1945.
