Edith N. Schultz passed away Feb. 25, 2006, in Whitefish. She was born June 8, 1918, one of 13 children of John A. and Anna (Olsen) Lien, in Alden, N.D., a town her father established. She lived in North Dakota until her parents passed away, and then moved to Seattle where she worked as a household manager and for Western Electric.

The Flathead County Sheriff's Office was occupied Sunday with parents having problems with sons. A woman on Ridgewood Drive reported her two big sons fighting, but after one left, she didn't want to give their names or have a deputy respond. Another woman, on Montana 206, said she was evicting a son and he has been selling her husband's belongings. An out-of-control son was reported on Vista Lane.

Flathead County Sheriff's Office dispatched emergency services to three crashes Thursday evening, plus other accidents reported when weather turned suddenly foul. Several people were injured, although none were critically hurt, according to reports. The first was a head-on crash at about 8:30 p.m. on U.S. 2 in front of Patty Seaman Homes. Responders came from Columbia Falls, Evergreen, and Kalispell to the crash. Two people went to the hospital. A half hour later, another crash happened on the same stretch of highway, also injuring two people. Within the hour, a third crash, also head-on, happened on Big Mountain. At least one person went to the hospital.

causing a number of accidents. The Kalispell Police Department was called to 11 crashes in about 2 1/2 hours. The Flathead County Sheriff's Office dispatched emergency services to a number of crashes. Among them was one with injuries on Montana 35; Bigfork Fire and Medical responded. A reported head-on crash north of Olney caused no injuries, and the same outcome was reported on U.S. 93 near the landfill. Crashes reported on Whitefish Stage Road and on U.S. 93 near Montana Coffee Traders couldn't be found. A man went by private vehicle to the hospital after a rollover between Lakeside and Somers.
