The American Association of University Women's annual Used Book Sale continues today through Sunday at the Kalispell Center Mall. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today; and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

AAUW book sale continues this weekend

Books are sold at $1.25 per inch. Sunday is Bag Day with books $3 per bag.

For 72 years, the Kalispell branch of AAUW has been serving the women and girls of the Flathead Valley through their scholarships, voter education, support of scholastic achievement, leadership development and activities for positive social change. Proceeds from the book sale support these scholarships and other programs in the local community.

'The Frog Prince' held at Ruder Elementary today

Ruder Elementary School, 1500 12th Ave. W., in Columbia Falls, joins the Missoula Children's Theatre for a production of "The Frog Prince." Performances are at 3 and 7 p.m. today in the school gym. Tickets are $4 each or $10 for a family.

International Dinner tonight at Eagles

The Eagles play host to their annual International Dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight. International cuisine from eight countries will be featured. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 10.

The Eagles is located at 37 First St. W., in Kalispell. The public is invited. Proceeds will benefit Eagles charities.

Fiddlers jam on Sunday at Senior Center

Everyone is invited to attend a free fiddlers jam from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Flathead Senior Center, 406 second Ave. W., in Kalispell. There will be dancing from 2 to 5 p.m. For more information, call the Center at 257-1598.

Workshop focuses on 'Growning up Female'

The Flathead Female Family Program is sponsoring a "Growing up Female" workshop for mothers and daughters, ages 9 to 13, on Monday, April 11 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. It will be held in the conference room of the Flathead City-County Health Department, 1035 First Ave. W. in Kalispell.

The workshop focuses on the importance of communication between mothers and daughters about the emotional and physical aspects of puberty. The program includes information, award winning films and discussion time for mothers and daughters.

The cost is $20 per mother and daughter and includes a pizza dinner and education materials. Seating is limited and pre-registration is required. For more information or to register, call 751-8150.

Speaker to talk of women and war

Sonia Lopez, the 21-year-old director of a human rights organization in Colombia, will discuss "Women and War in Colombia" at 7 p.m. Monday, April 11, in the board room of Blake Hall at Flathead Valley Community College.

Lopez is the director of the Joel Sierra Regional Human Rights Committee and a leader of the organization Dawn of Women for Arauca in one of the most war-torn regions in Colombia. She will describe the impacts that U.S. funding of the Colombian military is having on the people who live there.

The presentation is being sponsored by the Flathead Valley Human Rights Network, Flathead Valley Community College Office of Multicultural Services, and the Montana Human Rights Network.

The event is free and open to the public.
