WHITEFISH - Danni Paulson and Taylor Beach turned in dominating singles performances and led Whitefish to a 5-2 win over Eureka on Friday in girls tennis.

Paulson, the defending Class A champion, did not drop a game in her straight-set win over Jenni Bruns. Beach defeated Beca Richard, 6-1, 6-1.

"Danni Paulson and Taylor Beach were really on top of their games," Whitefish (3-0) coach Patrick Dryden said. "We were playing at two different sites, but I did catch part of Danni's match - no double faults, no unforced errors, just flawless tennis."

Cara Parrish and Bailey Dierman picked up a win for Eureka in No. 1 doubles, edging Kyla Salisbury and Maresa Jenson 6-3, 7-6 (8-6).

"The doubles matches were very competitive, exciting matches that could have gone either way," Dryden said. "In the matches I watched, we have to cut down our double faults. We had numerous double faults. It's still early (in the season), but it's the most I've ever seen."

Whitefish is idle until Thursday, hosting Columbia Falls. Eureka is off until April 25, traveling to Ronan to play the Maidens and Mission.
