Whitefish police investigated a privacy in communication complaint from a person on Fifth Street who said a distant relative was making telephone threats.

Bears tossed around trash and emptied bird feeders on Birch Hill Drive. A bear-capture trap was placed at the scene.

Whitefish police remind homeowners north of the viaduct that a prohibition remains in effect against placing garbage cans out the night before collection. Garbage containers should not be put out before 7 a.m. on the day they're to be picked up.

A theft of mail was reported from the Whitefish Post Office on Monday.
