Fund-raisers to help pay for autism training

| April 23, 2005 1:00 AM

Step By Step preschool and child care organized a pair of fund-raisers to help a Kalispell family cover costs for educational training about autism.

The family, who have two children with autism, will attend the training in Beaverton, Ore., the last week of May. They then will share what they learned with other families in the Flathead.

The first fund-raiser is this morning from 7 a.m. to noon, when a rummage sale is being held at Russell School. Along with the rummage items, baked goods will be sold.

The second fund-raiser is a raffle for six items and gift baskets created from donated items. Tickets are on sale until April 29.

Buy tickets at each school in District 5, where a teacher, board member or volunteer will be responsible for the sales. Tickets are $5 each or $10 for three and offer the chance to win the basket of your choice.
