The lucky winner of the ninth annual raffle drawing for the Dreambuilders Playhouses will be chosen today at 3 p.m. at the Kalispell Center Mall.

Parade of Children planned at mall

The Parade of Children event from noon to 3 p.m. in the mall will feature games and activities for children.

Bids for the silent auction of the playhouses close at 3:30 p.m.

All proceeds from the playhouse raffle benefit the Nurturing Center's Gemini Program.

Racing, swap meet planned in Polson

The Big Sky Pro Racing Association is planning a full-day racing event and swap meet today at the Polson Fairgrounds.

Set up begins at 8 a.m. and the swap meet is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. All categories of vendors are welcome, including classic car parts.

The Valley Cruisers Spring Break car show time is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $2 at the gate, and no charge for two person with each show car.

Outlaw cart flat-track racing laps are from 1 to 4 p.m. Racing gets under way at 7 p.m. Contestants will be competing for a $2,000 purse. Quad and dirt bike competitions will also be held.

Bigfork prepares to 'Clean the Fork'

The public is invited to "Clean the 'Fork" from 8 a.m. to noon today. Bring your brooms, flat shovels and rakes, and wear appropriate clothing and work gloves.

Start off the day with a pancake-and-ham breakfast provided by Flathead Bank at 8 a.m. Then head to the Bigfork Elementary School cafeteria to sign up for cleaning one of the areas around Bigfork.

Pickup trucks are also needed to haul the trash and trash bags.

Children 12 and under can enter raffle to win one of three pairs of binoculars donated by Glacier Bank. Call the Bigfork Chamber at 837-5888.

Globetrotter team performs on Sunday

The Harlem Globetrotter Comedy All-Stars, featuring Globetrotter legend Curly Neal, face off with the Law Enforcement All-Stars in a basketball competition the whole family will enjoy at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Flathead High School gym.

Tickets are $15 which admits one adult and two children, 12 and under, and are available at Town Pumps, Sunshine CDs, WestCoast Kalispell Center Hotel. Benefit for DARE Program and Crimestoppers.

The fund-raiser benefits the DARE Program and Crime Stoppers.

Eureka Rendezvous: 'Hotrods and Buckskins'

Mountain men and classic cars will highlight Eureka's 27th annual Rendezvous this weekend.

This year's theme is "Hotrods and Buckskins" and draws attention to both the David Thompson Black Powder Shoot and an old car gathering.

Saturday's lineup includes a craft fair and live entertainment at Eureka's Historical Village and a quilt show and flea market at the fairgrounds.

The parade gets under way at noon on the main street.

Vintage cars from around the Northwest and Canada will be on display at Riverside Park.

A special team shooting event is scheduled at the black powder shoot at 4:30 p.m. and a Greenhorn Mountain Man event will feature black powder shooting.

Tonight's entertainment features African drumming, songs and dance at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

Sunday the quilt show continues at the fairgrounds, which also will be the site of the mud bog at 1 p.m.

Marine arriving home on Sunday

U.S. Marine Corps Lance Corporal Michael K. Kamerer will return to the Flathead Sunday from Hawaii where he has been stationed for the last six months. Members of the community are invited to welcome him home when his plane arrives at noon at Glacier International Airport.

Kamerer will be home for two weeks before his deployment to Afghanistan. A 2001 graduate of Columbia Falls High School, he was recently recommended for Officer Training School through the Marine Corps.
