Arthur Henry "Art" Green

Arthur Henry "Art" Green, Esquire, "boarded the Railway to Heaven" April 17, 2005, "On Time."

He was born in Cambria, Ill., March 31, 1924.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 and a half years, Tillie (Ost) Green; and sons, George and Karen Green of Columbia Falls, and Greg Loberg of Whitefish; daughters, Renee and Steve of Minnesota, and Christie of Washington; granddaughters, Stephanie of Havre, Aubrey of Minnesota, Lacy of Minnesota, Jamie of Washington; grandsons, Aaron of Minnesota, and Micah; great-grandsons, Braiden Ford and Aaron Ford, and great-granddaughter, Maci Ford, all of Havre; one sister and brother-in-law, Millie and Don Hansen of California; numerous nieces and nephews an other in-laws, including Fred and Leo Ost of Whitefish.

Art was a locomotive engineer for 40 years on Great Northern and Burlington Northern lines. He retired 18 years ago.

He suffered from asbestosis, and congestive heart failure which lead to a stroke.

He worked a number of years in Seattle in the ship yards and munitions plants during World War II. After the war, he worked as an oiler at Ross Dam in Washington and when it was over, came to work as an oiler on Hungry Horse Dam.

All of us will miss him immeasurable the remaining days of our lives, "until we meet again beyond the Gate."

Remembrances may be made to the North Valley Building Fund for the new hospital; or Hospice; or to your choice.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time.
