Susan L. Wink, 67, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 22, 1937, in Independence, Mo., the daughter of Lawrence and Juanita (Walker) Reeder. Susan grew up in the Kansas City area.

She married Charles Shearer, and the couple had two children, Rhonda and Chuck, before divorcing.

In 1970, she married Gene Wink in Livingston, enfolding his children, Terry and Staci, into her love. Two children, Derek and Jared, were born to Gene and Susan. Susan's heart and her home always had plenty of room for all the children and their children, and for the many friends and extended family who found peace and laughter and welcome in her home.

Susan's passion for gardening was another of the ways in which she created a beautiful home wherever she was. She leaves behind the memory of her loving care of all who needed her. She leaves us all with seeds to plant to grow patience, tolerance and the art of making laughter and fun out of the most tedious and mundane tasks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister in infancy, and her first born grandson, James Hayes.

She is survived by her husband, Gene, at their home in Kalispell; her children, Rhonda Walsh, husband Bill, Chuck Shearer, wife Carrie, Terry Wink, wife Kelly, Staci Fitzgerald, Derek Wink, and partner Donny, and Jared Wink, wife Amber. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Joshua and Brian Hayes, Fin and Liam Walsh, Jessica, Cassidy, Erica, Abigail, Parker and Olivia Shearer, Genny, Kyle and Tyler Wink, Zachary Wink, Christie and Jeydin O'Malley, and Cecilia Rose Wink, born July 27. She is also survived by her special friends, Sunday and Sassi.

Memorial services for Susan will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Johnson Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Jeff Towns officiating. There will be no visitation. Urn burial will follow at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.

Johnson Mortuary and Crematory is caring for Susan's family.
